The idea behind this adventure is to run through the steamy, creek strewn Wilson Creek area in the middle of summer! It will definitely be hot, but there are plenty of creek crossings to cool off in along the way. IT IS GOING TO BE A BLAST!!!!
Little Lost Cove Cliffs

Harper Falls
North Harper Creek Falls

Bard Falls

The route will be in the Harper Creek Area and will climb up the extremely steep Yellow Buck Mtn, keep ascending up to the scenic views from Little Lost Cove Cliffs, and then will descend past 3 beautiful waterfalls. The last falls that we will cross is Harper Creek Falls only about a mile from the finish with two big swimming holes to cool off in and enjoy. The route is about 15.5 miles with 4500' of vertical gain, but the majority of that comes in the first half. Your feet will be wet the entire last half of the run as there are about 15 stream crossings, with one being waist deep. It will be very hot and extremely humid, hence the name "sWEaTfest", so make sure you bring plenty of water and be prepared to get wet!!!! Water only aid will be dropped at the bottom of Little Lost Cove Cliffs at the intersection of the Pineola Rd and Kawana Rd which is the road you take a left onto to access the N. Harper Creek Trail. This is about 7.5 miles into the run, so half way. The run will begin from the Harpers Creek Trailhead right off of Brown Mountain Beech Rd. You will need to bring your own map, so print off the directions below. Don't let the climb of this run and the heat scare you away! This run is extremely beautiful and very fun. Time will fly by as you play in that falls and it is only 15 miles. Check out the map below!

This run will be limited to 10 runners in accordance with Wilderness Area regulations.
